| The community of Weston spans 12,00 acres and is located twenty minutes west
of Fort Lauderdale at the crossroads of 1-75 , 1-595 and the Sawgrass Express-
way. Easy accessibility is just one of Weston's many assets. When the
developer, Arvida, held its grand opening in 1985, it termed Weston "The
Hometown of the Future." The plan was to build a series of villages in a broad
range of prices and styles. Among the lakes, parks and winding waterways are
beautifully designed single-family homes, some exceeding a million dollars, all
on impeccably landscaped grounds.
The area features the Weston park of Commerce, which will eventually be the
largest business park in Broward County when completed. The park is a mixed-use
development of about 700 acres, divided into two distinct regions: a 300-acre
corporate park along I-75 and Arvida Parkway and a 400-acre high-tech research
and development complex.
The Weston Art Festival is held on the third Saturday and Sunday in November.
