Hallandale Beach is one of Broward county's oldest and southernmost communities, first settled in the early 1900s by Scandinavian farmers. Today, Hallandale Beach is fully developed and populated largely by fulltime and seasonal residents. It is home to the Diplomat County club& spa.

Recreation plays an important role with beautiful sandy beaches, tennis courts, and a wide variety of fine and casual dining establishments. There's thoroughbred racing at Gulfstream Park, home to the Florida Derby.

Residential communities are high-lighted by condominiums and rental apartment-- many with waterfront views- as well single-family homes.

Hallandale Beach has convenient shopping and shuttle bus services. One of the most popular area is a retail district called Fashion Row.
