RESIDENCY
Simply moving to
Florida does not
Make you a legal
resident. You must
Register to vote
or file a Declaration of
Domicile with the
circuit court.
SCHOOL
To be admitted to
public school, a

proof of age. He or

1. Be six years old by
September 1 to
enter grade
2. Have
proof of a physical

months.
3. Be
immunized against

measles,
Mumps, pertussis,
polio,

proof of residency

TAXES
There is a 6 percent sales tax in
Broward and Palm Beach counties
and 6.5 percent sales tax in Miami-Dade County. Florida has no state personal
Income tax. The state offers a
homestead Exemption to Florida residents who own and given

You must file for the exemption with the County Property Appraiser between
January 1 and March 1 for the first time.
