Southern Florida is
among the country's high-technology magnets, drawing these industries from
across the nation. Broward and Palm Beach counties, in particular, have
become corporate or regional head-quarters to several leaders like Siemens
and Motorola in the computer technology and related fields.
Palm Beach County spans 2,054 square miles and has about 6.67 percent of the
state's population. This ranks I number three in population, but only number
nine as far s density of people per square mile with a little over a million
population.
Miami-Dade County is an international financial center without equal in the
United States. Foreign trade, especially with South America, has adopted Greater
Miami as its own world headquarters.
Corporate multinationals and business and industrial enterprises like the
possibilities here. The nation's business leaders bring and build enterprises
here, while enhancing the lifestyle - rather than compromising it. Housing in
Southern Florida keeps pace with the growing population.
GRATER MIAMI IS A CENTER
FOR LATIN AMERICAN CULTURE AND FINANCE WITH MANY MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES. |
ENDOWED WITH NATURAL
BEAUTY. ASUBTROPICAL CLIMATE AND THE OCEAN, THE GOLD COAST IS PERFECT FOR ITS
ROLE AMONG THE WORL'S VACATION CAPITAL.

|
Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm beach counties will continue to rank among
Florida's top growth center. Their total population exceeded 4.8 million at
the turn of the century.
According to census figures, Miami-Dade County ranks number one in Florida
with about 2.2 million people (nearly 15 percent of the state's residents)
living there on 1,955 square miles. About half of the county's population is
of Hispanic origin.
Broward County, with 1,211 square miles, has nearly 10 percent of the
population -ranking it number two.
|
Housing is as diversified as the population - designed to meet the needs of
year - round residents and snowbirds, young families and retirees, vacationers
and visiting business people.
Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and Palm Beach are ,by far , best known
among the Gold Coast cities. They each contribute their own brand of charm to
the area and have shaped the character of Southern Florida.
These and the other fifty communities highlighted here are your key to
Florida's Gold Coast. Each community offers its distinctive amenities and
flavor - sometimes not readily discernable.
Newcomers would be wise to carefully consider where they live.
